Today is April Fools' day, a day where people partake in pranks and jokes, even in the cryptocurrency space. This April 1st was quite unusual with eccentric news stories about one ones career transition, the use of chatbots for making investing decisions, and regulatory changes.

The first news story came through Indexed Finance's contributor Laurence Day who revealed that he was offered a role as the Head of CBDC (central bank digital currency) at HM (Her Majesty's) Treasury for the UK government. The Digital Pound is one of the most anticipated CBDCs globally. Day is currently hiring and everyone can join him on this journey to create this Digital Pound.

The second news story came from Bitcoin educationist Holger Rohm. Rohm is the author of the famous Rainbow Chart and the podcast host of KONSENS & NONSENS. Rohm stated that he would be using ChatGPT for his investing strategy for the coin challenge and it recommended him to buy IOTA. IOTA's Antonio Nardella appreciated the decision as it is close to achieving its own decentralisation milestone.

The third, and most serious of the news, was from Bitcoin entrepreneur Samson Mow reporting that EU lawmakers are planning to lift the ban on self-hosted wallets. Though, it would come with some limiations such as limiting the number of addresses to 10, only allowing transactions from Monday to Friday (8am to 5pm) and excluding holidays.

The fourth news was a joke, shared by XRP Army's account, claiming that SEC Chair Gary Gensler had been fired. However, it was just a joke as no other sources had the same story.

All in all, April Fools' day brought some eccentric news to light, showing the more humorous side of the cryptocurrency world.
