Shiba Inu will be making important announcements this May regarding its layer-2 scaling solution, Shibarium. A member of the Telegram group recently asked the team to excite the community "once in a while" with some good news. In response, Shiba Inu's lead developer Shytoshi Kusama teased that he has been working silently with an incredible team and trying to achieve "the impossible". Even though the team has not mentioned anything further on the topic, many speculate that the impossible task refers to the mainnet of Shibarium.

In the past few weeks, Puppynet, which is the beta version of Shibarium, has enjoyed a wide adoption. Currently, over 14.06 million addresses have been connected to the network and the transaction count is more than 4.6 million. However, Puppyscan, the official explorer of the network is unavailable at this moment.

In addition to this, the project has also not revealed any official date on when Shibarium mainnet is expected to launch. It is important to note that the Shibarium developers have been making various changes to the the protocol in anticipation of the upcoming mainnet.

Someone Smart (Maybe), one of the admins of the official Shibarium Telegram channel, has recently teased about the possibility of multiple exciting announcements coming this month. He has encouraged the community members to keep their eyes and ears open as the Shibarium team will soon make some major changes to the network.
