Crypto venture capitalist Sriram Krishnan has given his take on the future of decentralized social media, sharing his outlook in an interview with Bankless. With people realising the advantages of decentralized social media platforms, there are now a number of projects under development that could benefit. This includes Mastodon, Jack Dorsey's Nostr, Lens led by Stani Kulechov, and Dan Romero's Farcaster, whom Krishnan's VC fund, Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) have invested in.

Krishnan stresses that much of the infrastructure that will support a decentralized social media landscape already exists within the crypto space, citing Ethereum Name Service (ENS), Ethereum (ETH), non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and more as some of the technologies necessary. He believes this is more efficient than trying to recreate the wheel and all technology can take advantage of such existing solutions.

The crypto venture capitalist shares his enthusiasm for such decentralized projects, believing that individuals have the right to make decisions and control their own destiny, rather than leaving such judgments to the few. He supports the notion that users should have the power to create their own policies, as opposed to relying on centralized platforms.

Krishnan's research and results are a testament to the benefits of decentralized social media projects and the need for people to recognize the advantages of such platforms. The venture capitalist's suggestions for blockchain and cryptocurrency technology being used to supply the necessary infrastructure for such endeavors, demonstrate a wealth of potential for the future of the decentralized space.
