For the last decade, Kabosu, the Shiba Inu has been the face of one of the most popular meme, namely Doge meme, which has been a major success to the point that it inspired Dogecoin, a cryptocurrency, which has today a market cap of $11.6 billion. To commemorate the 17-year-old dog, a group of filmmakers, Web3 art and culture collective PleasrDAO and Doge-oriented NFT community Own the Doge have partnered to produce a so-called "dogumentary" film.

The film is directed by Jon Lynn and has been financed by PleasrDAO and Own the Doge community, which entails a variety of contributors, some of them enthusiastic members of the crypto world. Having profiles such as the former Hollywood talent agent, producer and recently separated husband of Reese Witherspoon, Jim Toth; the director of Pepe the Frog inspired documentary, Arthur Jones; and documentary producer, Evan Rosenfeld, hopeful big streaming studios like Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime take a sincere interest in the project.

The producers look for a major film distributor, but it's uncertain if traditional studios have the willingness to work with crypto-native projects backed by a group of anonymous participants. There is no lack of passion among these participants and their Doge project, which could become an inspiring example for new waves of Web-native stories and an interesting asset for film corporations.
