Kazakhstan's financial watchdog is planning to introduce new regulations that would require banks to block transfers to overseas cryptocurrency exchanges that have not registered with the local financial center. The proposed measures also include restrictions on transactions with online casinos and banning operators from accepting payments from individuals under 21 years old. Unregistered crypto exchanges would face a limit of 100,000 tenge (about $205) per month for transfers. The regulator is also proposing enhanced due diligence for transactions exceeding $1,000, even with registered exchanges. Kazakhstan has been increasing its scrutiny of non-licensed crypto exchanges and recently froze $1.2 million in crypto tied to illegal over-the-counter platforms.
