Tether, the largest company in the digital asset industry, and the Swiss city of Lugano have announced the line-up of speakers for the third annual Plan â‚¿ forum. The event aims to highlight the importance of cryptocurrency adoption in democratizing finance. This year's forum will feature the Assange family, who will discuss the significance of freedom of speech and its implications worldwide. Other notable speakers include industry leaders such as Adam Back, CEO at Blockstream, and Nick Szabo, a legendary cypherpunk. The event, which will take place in October 2024, aims to celebrate the role of Bitcoin and blockchain technology in securing financial freedom and boosting cryptocurrency transactions in Lugano. The city has been collaborating with Tether since 2022 to make Bitcoin and USDâ‚® legal tender in the city and position itself as a blockchain epicenter in Europe. Additionally, Lugano has hosted blockchain education programs and launched an incubator for blockchain start-ups. The city's initiative has led to the acceptance of Bitcoin, USDâ‚®, and LVGA at various shops and restaurants in the city.
