DRIFE, a decentralized ride-hailing platform built on the Sui Blockchain, has launched in Dubai, UAE. The platform aims to offer more transparency and fairness to both drivers and riders, allowing them to negotiate prices directly. DRIFE wants to bring blockchain technology to everyday applications and believes that the next wave of user adoption will come from sectors outside of crypto and trading. The platform is currently in its pilot phase with 1,000 drivers in Dubai and plans to expand to 5,000 drivers by the end of the year. DRIFE also has plans to obtain licenses in Saudi Arabia and expand into Europe. Additionally, the platform intends to integrate the regulated AED stablecoin as a payment option, offering instant settlements and reduced transaction fees.
