CandleFocus MagicBlock open sources a16z-backed ‘ephemeral rollup’ tech

Solana gaming infrastructure startup MagicBlock has announced that it is making its ephemeral validator open source. The move allows developers to use MagicBlock's technology to create momentary Solana rollups that can process transactions quicker and potentially make apps "unstoppable." While MagicBlock was initially focused on building on-chain games, the company's broader vision now extends to allowing all developers to move away from traditional web servers. MagicBlock's architecture still supports gaming projects but also offers a way to run on-chain without sacrificing speed. The open-source tech is initially under license and requires collaboration with MagicBlock to launch commercial products. MagicBlock is also exploring opportunities in other crypto sectors such as SocialFi apps and perpetual futures DEXs. The aim is to make apps more trustless and enable decentralized finance (DeFi) use cases.
