Hacker Exploits Dogecoin (DOGE) Flaw, Causing 69% of Nodes To Crash
A hacker exploited a vulnerability in Dogecoin's blockchain, causing a significant crash in the number of DOGE nodes. The monitoring platform Blockchair reported a decrease from 647 to 205 nodes, but some nodes have since recovered, with 331 currently active. Bitcoin sidechain developer Andreas Kohl claimed responsibility for the exploit, stating that he used an old laptop and a publicly disclosed vulnerability to take down most of the DOGE network. However, Kohl mentioned that only nodes not on the latest version were affected, so many DOGE users didn't notice. The news had a minimal impact on DOGE's price, which decreased by 4.7% to $0.413.
