Crypto influencer Ben Armstrong, also known as BitBoy, has hinted at a major announcement regarding the global adoption of XRP, Ripple's digital asset. This came during a discussion with XRP community figure Edo Farina about the potential for XRP to become a world reserve currency. Farina shared an image illustrating connections between Ripple executives and major global financial institutions, suggesting that XRP becoming the world reserve currency was inevitable. However, Armstrong disagreed with this notion, stating that it was unlikely to happen and that a new payment system being developed by BRICS nations, called BRICS Pay, had a stronger chance of claiming that status. Despite this disagreement, Armstrong emphasized that Ripple and XRP would play a significant role in the future financial system and hinted at upcoming announcements regarding this matter.
