The Shiba Inu ecosystem's layer-2 network, Shibarium, may integrate Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) to improve interoperability. The integration was discovered by a member of the Shiba Inu community known as The Bus, who shared screenshots of code details suggesting the integration. The code shows a smart contract that uses Chainlink's technology to validate token prices and facilitate cross-chain token transfers. Shiba Inu developer Kaal Dhairya reacted to the disclosure, acknowledging The Bus' ability to uncover updates. CCIP allows for seamless interoperability between different blockchains and could enable Shibarium-based assets to interact with other chains. However, the extent of CCIP's impact on Shibarium's interoperability is not yet clear. The integration aligns with Shibarium's goal of expanding utility and adoption in the decentralized finance (DeFi) space.
