Prominent economist Peter Schiff has criticized Strategy Inc.'s investment in Bitcoin (BTC), pointing to the firm's declining share price and reduced Net Asset Value (NAV) premium. Schiff noted that the company's shares have underperformed compared to leveraged Bitcoin buying and highlighted the dilution of shareholders, which has reduced the premium on the company's Bitcoin reserves. He also criticized the fact that Strategy Inc. has been acquiring Bitcoin through convertible debt, expressing concern that too much debt could be dangerous if the price of Bitcoin drops. Despite the criticism, Strategy Inc. recently announced the acquisition of 20,356 Bitcoins, bringing its total holdings to 478,740 BTC. The acquisition was funded through a market-based equity program and a $2 billion convertible notes issuance. Critics, like Schiff, remain skeptical about the firm's debt-fueled strategy in the long term.
