A new study conducted by layer-1 network Sei has found that nearly 65% of transactions on the Ethereum network could be processed simultaneously, potentially increasing its speed. Currently, Ethereum processes transactions one after another, but the study reveals that many transactions do not depend on each other and could be processed in parallel. However, about 35% of transactions still require sequential processing due to dependency. The study suggests that implementing methods like "optimistic concurrency control" and sharding could further improve Ethereum's speed in the future.
