Lisk, a blockchain project with a focus on accessibility and community-driven development, has shifted from a Layer-1 (L1) to a Layer-2 (L2) approach in order to tackle scalability challenges and democratize blockchain technology access. The project has joined forces with Optimism and other leading blockchain projects to form the OP Superchain, a collective of interoperable L2 solutions designed to scale Ethereum. Lisk believes that this cooperative approach promotes interoperability and collaboration among blockchains rather than competition. By being part of the Superchain, Lisk gains access to Ethereum's liquidity and decentralized security. The project is also committed to supporting blockchain adoption in emerging markets, particularly in Africa and Southeast Asia, by partnering with local builders, governments, and organizations to provide scalable and cost-effective technology. Lisk is focused on practical use cases that address real-world challenges in these regions, such as stablecoins and real-world asset tokenization. The project has recently launched its mainnet and has ambitious goals for the future, including implementing fault proofs to further decentralize its infrastructure.
