Compass Mining has activated 3,000 bitcoin mining machines at its new hosting facility in Iowa, with plans to add another 1,000 by the end of September. This expansion will increase the facility's capacity by 12.5 megawatts (MW). The company aims to manage around 30 MW of power across multiple locations in the US by the end of 2024. Despite lower revenue for bitcoin miners, Compass Mining's move to expand aligns with its growth plans and objective to broaden its presence in various regions and markets.
