Atari, the iconic gaming pioneer, is stepping into Web3 commerce with the launch of a new patch collection. The collection will include seven new Atari patches or two vintage designs from the 1980s, with bonus items such as stickers and gift cards included in select packs. Atari has been exploring various Web3 projects since 2018 in an effort to modernize its brand and attract a new audience. The patch collection will be released next week, and interested collectors are encouraged to sign up ahead of time. The initiative is part of Atari's wider blockchain-related initiatives, with the company aiming to leverage DYLI's drop feature to increase user adoption of its Abstract Chain-powered marketplace. DYLI claims to utilize blockchain to ensure authenticity and offers a secondary marketplace for trading both physical and digital goods. The DYLI accounts include an integrated wallet for transactions, and all transactions are gas-free. Despite facing challenges, Atari has embraced Web3 with the same pioneering spirit that defined its early years in the gaming industry.
