David Maisel, the founding chairman of Marvel Studio, recently announced the launch of the Ekos Genesis Art Collection, which is now available for view in the virtual gallery on ekos.io. This non-fungible token (NFT) collection includes original art from the late comic book artist Michael Turner and his collaborator Peter Steigerwald, who are known for their work on Marvel and DC Comics. In addition, it also includes characters from Turner’s Aspen Comics series such as Fathom and the eponymous Ekos, which was not released before Turner’s death.

As a fan of Turner’s work, Maisel began collecting it in 2003. Each NFT has been constructed with the original line art and created by adding vibrantly-hued elements, inspired by Pop Art, black light posters and neon lights.

To offer everyone a chance of owning these artworks, the team has announced a Dutch auction of 995 one-of-a-kind NFTs, starting on May 2 at 10 a.m. PT. The bidding process will start at 10 ether (ETH) and reduce in price every four minutes until the gallery is sold out. Those who deposit at least 10 ETH prior to May 1 will be able to lock in a piece of Ekos Genesis Art. Furthermore, the first 100 early depositors will be rewarded with a surprise bonus NFT from a different collection and the top six collectors will receive one of six limited-edition NFTs featuring the same Fathom cover art from 2021.

Above all, with the Ekos Genesis Art Collection, Mythos Studios aims to celebrate the legacy of Michael Turner and his creation of the comic book universe. Additionally, by using blockchain-based NFTs, they are will be able to offer everyone the opportunity to own the Ekos Genesis Artworks, which can be cherished for a lifetime.
