Heavy demand for the Madlads xNFT collection on Solana has created a frenzy among crypto traders and enthusiasts, causing the developers to delay its public minting. Billions of requests through the wallet Backpack, created by the duo Armani Ferrante and Tristan Yver, have arose in part due to the make-up of the xNFTs. These tokens represent more than just a JPEG, they "tokenize code representing ownership rights over its execution". Despite the delay, excitement still lingers with some users going as far as to purchase custom RPC nodes to increase their chances of minting. Twitter spaces have had thousands of listeners eagerly awaiting the Madlads delay, with developers falling short of their expectations in a sense of internet outages preventing public access to the mint, this continuing for hours and even a day. In the end CEO Mert Mumaz had to warn would-be minters that buying RPC nodes from Solana developer project Helius would likely not increase their chances of minting. The Madlads collection is set to open up to public minters at 7:00 EST Friday, displaying yet another example of a phenomenon that rising NFTs have caused.
