Russia's central bank is working on developing a platform to combat illegal cryptocurrency over-the-counter (OTC) services and other suspicious financial activities. The platform aims to make it more difficult for shadow businesses to misuse banking services for illegal purposes, including money laundering and transactions related to drugs, online casinos, crypto exchanges/OTC services, and pirated websites. The system will enable the central bank to share information about suspicious activities with financial lenders, helping them prevent illegal financial transactions. The timeline for the platform's launch is still unclear, as the central bank is focused on finding an acceptable solution that addresses the problem without causing social tension or affecting honest citizens.
