Helium partners with DAWN to create ‘last-mile internet solution’

Helium, a decentralized wireless carrier powered by Solana, has partnered with DAWN to expand both their networks and create the world's first fully decentralized last-mile internet solution. The partnership allows Helium hotspot operators to serve DAWN broadband internet and vice versa, enabling regular users to own and be rewarded in crypto for providing wireless broadband. This partnership will add 8,000 nodes to the Helium Network and potentially allow more than 25,000 mobile hotspots to serve DAWN broadband. The partnership highlights the potential for collaboration in the decentralized internet space, and it also positions Elon Musk's Starlink as a potential rival to the Helium-DAWN partnership. This collaboration is expected to bring additional income to households and incentivize the setup of physical devices in homes.
