Bukele Is The President of El Salvador, Not Bitcoin

El Salvador's President Bukele has made concessions to the Bitcoin Law as a condition of a new IMF loan package. While most of the changes are seen as positive, such as the removal of legal tender laws and the improvement of the Chivo wallet, the negative aspect is that the state will no longer accept bitcoin for tax payments. Many in the Bitcoin community feel misled or betrayed by these changes, but it is argued that Bukele's first priority is to address the country's issues, such as poverty and violence, and Bitcoin is just one tool to achieve that. Bukele's responsibility is to the people of El Salvador, not to the cryptocurrency community.
