Bahrain's ATME has become the first digital asset exchange in the Kingdom to launch gold-backed tokens with the support of the Central Bank of Bahrain. Each token represents one kilogram of gold, providing accredited investors with a secure and convenient way to invest in the precious metal without the need for physical storage. ATME's CEO, Alex Lola, sees this as a major development that combines the stability of gold with the benefits of blockchain technology. The company also plans to expand its platform to include other types of assets, promoting financial inclusivity in the region.
