Bitcoin advocate and CEO of JAN3, Samson Mow, believes that the US government holds far less bitcoin than previously thought and expects them to acquire more through strategic acquisitions. Mow estimates that the US currently holds around 112,000 BTC or less, while China holds 194,000 BTC. Despite doubts, Mow expects the US to make purchases, citing various methods such as issuing bitcoin bonds or selling gold. The establishment of the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve was made official when President Trump signed an executive order, and Mow believes that an official audit will clarify the US's exact reserves. Mow sees the competition between governments for bitcoin holdings as a positive for the cryptocurrency's future.
