Zebedee, a crypto gaming and payments app, is broadening its partnership with the crypto on and off-ramp platform Bitnob to offer rewards to African gamers and users in the form of satoshis. Currently available in Nigeria, Kenya, and Rwanda, the app is expected to expand to more African countries as users can not only be rewarded with bitcoin but also make cross-border payments.

As they accumulate satoshis, users of the Zebedee app will be able to convert them into local currencies. The move to increase its availability in Africa is part of the company’s goal to create a complete network of entry and exit points to the global economy through the Bitcoin Lightning Network. Along with Africa, similar channels have been opened in Brazil, the Philippines, the European Union, the United States, and the U.K.

Explaining why the Bitcoin Lightning Network is the right fit for the African market, Ben Cousens, the Chief Strategy Officer of Zebedee, said that many major gaming companies have 30 million players in African countries, and it’s too expensive to pay prizes with traditional fiat rails. The Zebedee app makes it easy to send satoshis with low fees and is much more reliable than other solutions.

The rise of cryptocurrencies has revolutionized the financial industry and Zebedee’s partnership with Bitnob is a testament to that fact. It allows users to access banking without any initial fees, minimal transaction costs and 24x7 access to payments and transfers. Moreover, it also offers much more protection against inflation than traditional currencies. The move of crypto companies like Zebedee is aiming to give African citizens more access to financial services they normally wouldn’t have, opening up a world of new possibilities.
