Crucial Call to Action Issued for XRPL Validators, Here's Why
The UNL migration to the new XRPL (XRP Ledger) Foundation has begun, and node validators are urged to update their configurations by March 10, 2025, to ensure continued network participation and prevent downtime. The new XRPL Foundation was launched last year and is incorporated in France. The XRPL Foundation has historically played a role in ensuring the security and decentralization of the XRPL by publishing a trusted UNL. UNLs are lists of validators that participants select to avoid fraudulent activity. Participants are responsible for choosing a reliable set of validators, and the XRPL Foundation and Ripple have been recognized for publishing suggested default lists of high-quality validators. Validators and node operators who rely on the previous UNL list provided by the XRPL Foundation may need to upgrade to keep the network secure and well-managed.
