The Biden administration is reportedly planning to blacklist Chinese company Sophgo, which is accused of using a chip from Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) in Huawei's AI processor without permission. Sophgo, co-founded by Micree Zhan, is under scrutiny for its alleged connection to Huawei's Ascend 910B multi-chip system. The U.S. Commerce Department has recently increased actions against companies associated with Huawei, and Sophgo's ties to Bitmain, a prominent Bitcoin mining company, have further raised concerns. The company's blacklisting would add to the growing list of Chinese entities facing U.S. sanctions for their alleged involvement with Huawei.
