Input|Output (IO) is building a new technology in Ethiopia, following a successful pilot program in Greece and Barbados. The Ethiopian government has shown support for digitalization, highlighted in the "Digital Ethiopia 2025" report. Cardano co-founder Charles Hoskinson is mentioned in the report, expressing his desire to harness blockchain technology. Plans are underway to train local blockchain developers using Cardano to improve product traceability, starting with coffee exports. The Ethiopian government has agreed to implement a system using Atala PRISM to track critical personal information. The goal is to create a self-sovereign identification system that can eventually be used in passports and the banking system. IO's platform, Identus, has contributed to the project, inspired by Real Finance (RealFi).
