Elon Musk, the world's wealthiest man with a net worth of $259 billion as of the beginning of September this year, has recently surpassed the 159 million threshold of followers on the X app, formerly known as Twitter. This has made him the most followed person on the said platform. Not only is he the owner of X, but also of The Boring Company, Neuralink, SpaceX, and Tesla. Musk's immense popularity can be attributed to being a vocal Dogecoin supporter and shifting the price of this meme coin with his tweets. He now has much more followers than the 3.8 million who follow the official account of DOGE on X and co-founder of DOGE Billy Markus, known as Shibetoshi Nakamoto on the X app, who has 2.1 million followers.

During the acquisition of Twitter and closing the deal in October last year, Musk has integrated several new updates on X. It now has evolved from being a microblogging platform to publishing long reads, sharing live videos, game streaming, and even introducing the Subscriptions feature, which allows content makers to receive monthly fees from their subscribers without X taking its percentage until an individual payout amount exceeds $100,000.

Currently, Musk is involved in a battle against the SEC regulator who has sued him for not testifying about the Twitter purchase. As well, the regulator is trying to determine if there had been any securities fraud on Twitter as he began to buy shares of the company last year.
