The Interchain Foundation (ICF) has acquired Skip and established Interchain Inc. as its new subsidiary, marking a shift towards a more centralized and cohesive approach in the Cosmos ecosystem. Interchain Inc., led by Skip co-founders Barry Plunkett and Maghnus Mareneck, will oversee product development, ecosystem strategy, and execution. The subsidiary aims to bridge silos within the ecosystem and introduce major upgrades to the IBC and Cosmos SDK protocols. It also seeks to expand virtual machine support, address liquidity fragmentation across chains, and simplify the developer experience. The ICF hopes that these efforts will create a more unified and dynamic ecosystem for Cosmos, emphasizing its vision as the "Internet of Blockchains."
