Peter Schiff, a well-known critic of Bitcoin, has once again clashed with MicroStrategy Chairman Michael Saylor over Bitcoin's energy status. Schiff dismissed Saylor's claim that Bitcoin is "digital energy," stating that it is just another exaggerated label, similar to "digital gold." Schiff questioned how Bitcoin could generate power and argued that it is more speculative than a resource with tangible utility. He contrasted Bitcoin with crude oil, highlighting the latter's importance in sustaining industries and human survival. On the other hand, Saylor sees Bitcoin as a transformative technology and storage of value, comparing it to the historical role of gold. The differing views illustrate the ongoing debates about Bitcoin's true value and purpose.
