In this news, Michael Saylor of MicroStrategy encourages Mohamed El-Erian of Allianz to buy Bitcoin. El-Erian believes recent economic data is stronger than expected and criticizes the Fed's dependence on this data. He suggests that the Fed may tolerate inflation slightly above their 2% target. El-Erian warns that the Fed might raise rates to reach the target, which is not ideal. Bitcoin is seen as a hedge against inflation due to its scarcity. MicroStrategy continues to accumulate Bitcoin, now holding 450,000. El-Erian previously bought and sold Bitcoin, and predicted it would not reach $200,000 in 2022. Bitcoin's current price is around $98,646.
