Crypto Investors HODL Amid Market Uncertainty, Survey Finds

Despite market volatility, crypto investors in key global regions are remaining steadfast in their commitment to the asset class, according to the "2024 Global State of Crypto" survey. Ownership rates of cryptocurrencies have held steady or even increased in the US, UK, France, and Singapore. Long-term investment potential is a clear motivation for owning crypto, with 65% of owners holding for the future and 38% seeing it as a buffer against inflation. The survey also found that fewer investors have sold their assets in the past six months compared to over a year ago, indicating a shift toward more bullish sentiment. Additionally, a significant portion of past owners are considering re-investing, with 70% contemplating doing so within the next year. Another survey by CoinGecko supports these findings, with 54.1% of investors remaining optimistic about the long-term potential of the market. The emergence of spot Bitcoin ETFs has attracted new investors, with nearly 40% of US crypto owners now holding some of their portfolio in ETFs. As the 2024 US presidential election approaches, cryptocurrency has become a prominent campaign issue, with a majority of US respondents saying they will consider a candidate's position on crypto in their voting decisions.
