Resolution Urging Nigeria to 'Immediately Release' Jailed Binance Exec Heads to US House

The U.S. Congress Foreign Affairs Committee has passed a resolution calling for the immediate release of Tigran Gambaryan, a Binance executive who has been detained in Nigeria since February. The resolution also urges the U.S. government to formally declare Gambaryan a "citizen wrongfully detained by a foreign government." Gambaryan's family has reported that his health has deteriorated during his imprisonment, and the resolution calls for Nigeria to provide him with unrestricted medical access and respect his human rights. The resolution invokes the Robert Levinson Hostage Recovery and Hostage-Taking Accountability Act to define his detention as unlawful. Binance has expressed gratitude for the efforts to secure Gambaryan's release, and his family has called on both the U.S. and Nigerian governments to take action.
