More than 60% of Indonesian youths invest in crypto: report

More than 60% of crypto investors in Indonesia are Gen Z and Millennial individuals aged 18 to 30, according to data from Indonesian regulators. Cryptocurrency is becoming increasingly popular among young Indonesians as an alternative to traditional financial assets. The head of the Indonesian Commodity Futures Trading Regulatory Agency emphasizes the importance of promoting financial literacy to educate young people about crypto and help them make informed investment decisions. Additionally, a survey indicates that financial management and investment have become priorities for Millennials and Gen Z in Indonesia. The total value of crypto transactions in Indonesia reached IDR 33.67 trillion ($2.13 billion USD) as of September 2024, showing a significant increase compared to the previous year.
