Monad Testnet Launches as Ethereum-Compatible Layer 1, Promising High Throughput and Enhanced EVM Performance

Monad, a new blockchain platform compatible with Ethereum, has launched its testnet with the goal of achieving up to 10,000 transactions per second (TPS). Early testing has shown that Monad is capable of reaching this benchmark, which would greatly improve scalability and transaction efficiency compared to Ethereum. Monad differentiates itself by using a pipelined architecture that allows for concurrent transaction processing, as well as EVM bytecode compatibility to facilitate the migration of existing decentralized applications. The project has garnered significant investment, including $225 million in funding from notable investors such as Paradigm and Coinbase Ventures. Monad's network token will play a vital role in incentivizing validation and maintaining network security.
