Lido Co-Founders Said to Plot Competitor to Sam Altman's World Network

A group of crypto veterans, including the co-founders of Lido, are preparing to launch "Y," a blockchain identity platform aimed at competing with World Network, which recently rebranded from Worldcoin. Y plans to differentiate itself by addressing the controversies surrounding World Network, such as privacy concerns and exploitative user recruitment practices. It will authenticate users by aggregating data from their existing socials and blockchain activity, as well as employing the Ethereum Attestation Service. Y's marketing strategy will focus on highlighting World Network's controversial aspects, particularly its reliance on biometric data. World Network currently has over 15 million users, but Y hopes to attract users through its ties to Lido and by capitalizing on concerns surrounding World Network's connections to OpenAI.
