CandleFocus Matthew Blumberg Files Motion to Dismiss Prometheum’s Case

Matthew Blumberg, host of the 'Decent' podcast, has filed a motion to dismiss a defamation lawsuit brought against him by Prometheum, Inc. and its affiliates. Blumberg made public comments about Prometheum's operations in the crypto market, including calling them "scammers." He argues that his statements were opinions protected under New York's anti-SLAPP laws and that the lawsuit is an attempt to suppress free speech. Blumberg also claims that Prometheum pressured him to issue a favorable public statement and contacted his mother to deliver the demand. Prometheum's controversial actions and its SPBD license issued by the SEC have sparked political and regulatory debates. Blumberg seeks dismissal of the lawsuit and reimbursement of his legal costs. This is not the first time Prometheum has faced scrutiny within the crypto industry, as it supported the SEC's stance on crypto regulations and secured a SPBD license.
