DIA launches testnet for Lumina, a new modular oracle

DIA has launched the testnet for Lumina, a modular oracle infrastructure designed to improve transparency, scalability, and integration flexibility in the cryptocurrency space. Lumina differentiates itself from other oracle solutions through its support for multiple messaging protocols, compatibility with non-EVM chains, and comprehensive data traceability. The architecture of Lumina allows users to track the entire data journey, enhancing trust in data reliability and accuracy. The mainnet is set to be released in Q1 2025 and will operate as a fully permissionless network, allowing developers to create their own oracles and enabling the inclusion of a broader range of assets in decentralized finance (DeFi). Lumina can integrate various data sources, including blockchain networks and external APIs, to ensure broad coverage and accuracy. It uses an OP Stack-based rollup called Lasernet for scalability and employs Celestia for data availability. Lumina is optimized for Ethereum rollups but can also support non-EVM ecosystems like Cosmos. Users can choose between push and pull models of data delivery. Lumina's roadmap prioritizes decentralization, with the aim of eventually running without direct involvement from the core team.
