Canadian Bitcoin developer Peter Todd has criticized the concept of a strategic cryptocurrency reserve that includes other digital assets like XRP and Solana. Todd called it an "obvious scam" favoring centralized authorities. He compared having only Bitcoin in the reserve to a strategic gold reserve, stating that Bitcoin is like digital gold. Todd has been a critic of XRP, citing centralization problems with the token. Recently, US President Donald Trump announced plans to build a strategic cryptocurrency reserve, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple, Solana, and Cardano. This move has raised concerns among the crypto community due to the involvement of centralized entities.
