According to cryptocurrency platform Matrixport, Ethereum may lag behind Bitcoin in 2024 but has the potential to become the market leader in 2025. Bitcoin has outperformed the market this year, with its dominance rising to 61% and then falling to 54%. In contrast, Ethereum's dominance dropped from 18% to 12% following the launch of spot ETH ETFs. Despite negativity surrounding Ethereum in 2024, Matrixport analysts believe that the altcoin focus is shifting towards Solana. However, they anticipate a potential comeback for Ethereum in 2025, fueled by increasing inflows into ETH ETFs and aggressive accumulation by traditional finance institutions.
