A total of 1 billion XRP tokens were recently sent to Ripple from unknown wallets, according to data from Whale Alert. The transfers have raised concerns about the token's ties to Ripple Labs. However, these transfers are most likely related to XRP's monthly escrow unlocks, as they align with the company's release schedule. Some users are puzzled by the fact that the wallets were labeled as unknown, but this could be due to a misidentification by Whale Alert or Ripple's use of other internal wallets. Ripple holds around 38 billion tokens in its escrow wallets and has close to 4.5 billion tokens available in its wallets. CEO Brad Garlinghouse previously stated that the company owned over $100 billion worth of XRP tokens, indicating a higher valuation than previously reported.
