Blockchain can be used to facilitate a modern voting system. Voting with Blockchain has been tested in the November'18 midterm elections in West Virginia and has the potential to eliminate election fraud and increase voter turnout. Using the blockchain in this way will make tampering with votes nearly impossible. The Blockchain protocol is also capable of maintaining transparency in the selection process, reducing the staff required to make a choice, and providing almost immediate results to authorities. With this system, the need to recount the votes or concerns that a fraudulent vote on ballot papers could threaten the validity of the election is eliminated.
