Truemarkets, a new prediction market platform built on the Base Layer 2 blockchain, has officially launched after raising over $4 million through a public NFT sale. Similar to Polymarket, Truemarkets allows users to bet on the outcomes of events and aggregates real-time breaking headlines. It offers rewards for accurate predictions and creates a trading market where individuals can buy and sell tokens based on the likelihood of different outcomes. The company raised funding through the sale of 15,071 Oracle Patron NFTs, with Vitalik Buterin purchasing 400 of them. Truemarkets will allocate a portion of its token supply to NFT holders in an upcoming airdrop, with the token serving as a governance token.
