SBI VC, a Japanese cryptocurrency exchange, has invested $328 million in Bitcoin, acquiring 4,000 BTC following a price drop. The exchange purchased the cryptocurrency at an average price of $80,000 per BTC. This strategic move indicates a growing demand for Bitcoin in Asia, as several Asian countries and institutions are expanding their involvement in the cryptocurrency market. China and Bhutan have also been reported to hold significant Bitcoin reserves, further highlighting the region's interest in digital assets. Japan has recently made cryptocurrency taxation more favorable, and there is speculation that China may include Bitcoin in its national reserve. SBI VC's investment supports the development of regional Bitcoin markets and adds to the growing institutional interest in cryptocurrency in Asia.
