High treason charge for Russian man who ‘sent crypto to Ukraine’

An unidentified man in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Russia has been arrested on suspicion of high treason for allegedly sending cryptocurrency to Ukraine's armed forces. The cryptocurrency was reportedly intended to be used to purchase weapons, ammunition, and uniforms. This arrest is the latest in a series of charges against individuals accused of supporting Ukraine. It remains unclear what sentences these individuals may receive. In a similar case, physicist Alexander Shiplyuk was recently sentenced to 15 years in prison for sharing classified information with German intelligence. His colleague, Anatoly Maslov, was sentenced to 14 years in prison.
