CryptoPunks Keep Hold on Luxury World as Other Degen Brands Fade

Tech-focused luxury fashion brand mmERCH launched a new line of custom hoodies inspired by the CryptoPunk NFT collection. The 322 one-of-one clothing pieces were accompanied by NFTs created by digital artist Claire Silver, and five of them were sold by Christie's. The CryptoPunks collection has been able to infiltrate the luxury industry, earning respect and brand continuity that other crypto brands have struggled to achieve. The organic origins of the collection and its cultural relevance have attracted artists, collectors, and luxury brands. The first five hoodies, featuring Swarovski cord ends, have been auctioned at Christie's, with bids reaching up to $8,500. The remaining 317 hoodies will be available for purchase through a 24-hour allowlist mint exclusively for mmERCH and CryptoPunk holders. The line is expected to appeal to both crypto-native collectors and traditional fashion consumers.
