Blockchain investigator ZachXBT has accused USDC issuer Circle of profiting from transactions associated with North Korean hacking group Lazarus. ZachXBT criticized Circle for waiting 4.5 months before blacklisting assets affiliated with Lazarus, and for not taking action to stop the group from laundering money. Other stablecoin issuers, including the issuer of USDT, had banned wallet addresses associated with Lazarus. ZachXBT's research shows that hackers from North Korea have transferred over $200 million into stablecoins from various hacks.
