The CEO of CryptoQuant, Ki Young Ju, has advised cryptocurrency holders who are not tech-savvy to avoid using Windows and Android devices to protect their crypto assets from being hacked. Instead, he recommends using Macbooks or iPhones as they offer superior security. Apple's MacOS is built on Unix, has strong app sandboxing, and files are not executable by default. Windows platforms are considered riskier as they allow executing malicious files with fewer checks. Macs have a lower infection rate compared to Windows PCs, and Apple's closed ecosystem in iOS makes it more challenging for hackers to find vulnerabilities. Earlier this year, Windows users were targeted with a malicious attack that threatened their crypto wallets. It is advised for cryptocurrency holders to use hardware wallets, but even those may be at risk, as Ledger users were recently targeted with fake data breach emails.
