Nubit has introduced a unified token protocol called Goldinals, which aims to address limitations in programmability, data availability, and asset creation in the Bitcoin ecosystem. The protocol, built on BitVM, claims to offer a fast, secure, reliable, and decentralized solution that can hasten development time and streamline the fragmented BTC ecosystem. Goldinals is compatible with BRC-20 and Runes standards and allows developers to specify token attributes using smart contract-style logic. The protocol will utilize zero-knowledge proofs for on-chain validation and reduce the need for third-party verification. Nubit is also developing a compiler and continuing to develop BitVM to operate Turing-complete programs on Bitcoin.
