In the crypto market, bitcoin experienced a reversal after President Trump promised to impose tariffs on Mexico and Canada. A report from Reuters suggested that the tariffs would be delayed, causing bitcoin to climb above $106,000. However, the White House refuted the report and confirmed that the tariffs would go into effect. As a result, bitcoin's price dropped to just below $103,000. The broader CoinDesk 20 Index was down 1.3%, with the exception of ether which saw a 1.2% increase. Traditional markets also experienced modest gains but fell from their session highs.
